For 3 months I interned at jesGORDON/properFUN in New York City. Jes Gordon is an award winning, celebrity event producer, designer and planner and I had the opportunity to work with her amazing team.

Once again, myself and fellow interior designer, stylist and avid blogger Natasha Nasveld hosted our annual Christmukkah dessert, and it definitely lived up to its high expectations. 

I finally finished university! This was the result of my final studio class, the redevelopment of The Gunnery building, Woolloomooloo. Together with my fellow students Gabriella Luchini and Bonnie Duncan we designed a gallery, the new Artspace offices, artist in residence accommodation and a rooftop garden. I was in charge of the rooftop garden and designed it with the highest Green Star rating possible. It includes photovoltaic cells, rainwater tanks, a sustainable vegetable and sculpture garden and plenty of seating for the visitors. 

For my first semester, 3rd year final presentation Studio class we had to create an intervention into The Wapping Project in Wapping, London. The Wapping Project is an old hydraulic power station which is now being used as a gallery, restaurant and bookstore. By recognizing the disconnection of the bar space and Bookstore in The Wapping Project, I proposed to build a series of curved, intimate structures that incorporate the programs into the unused area, the courtyard, between both spaces. This encouraged me to push the boundaries of the inside space, to allow others to interact in the garden, not only the confines of the interior. 

There will be three structures in the garden, each functions in a very distinct way. Whilst one acts as an extended reading precinct, others act as a continued event space with short and long tables for casual entertaining or formal dining. This gives viewers the opportunity to chose what they wish to do in the space.

Ever since The OC featured the joint celebration of Christmas and Chanukkah, I have always wanted to have my own celebration combining the two religions. Together with fellow UTS design student and friend, Natasha Nasveld, we held a Christmukkah dessert commemorating this fun holiday!

Today I spent the day making pinwheels for my future niece/nephew’s nursery! They were super easy to make and lots of fun!
